The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced it will conduct a full-scale investigation into reports of alleged examination malpractice during the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).\u00a0<\/p>\n

The announcement follows a JoyNews documentary that reportedly highlighted instances of cheating in some schools.<\/p>\n

In a press release signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Service assured the public that it would secure the full documentary and transcripts for scrutiny.<\/p>\n

\u201cA copy of the full documentary with the original transcripts will be obtained and scrutinised immediately, after which a full-scale investigation would be conducted into the allegations,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

GES emphasised its strong stance against cheating in examinations, describing it as a major threat to the education system.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cCheating undermines the integrity of our education system, destroys meritocracy, and produces graduates who lack the competencies required for national development,\u201d management cautioned.<\/p>\n

The Service further assured stakeholders of its collaboration with WAEC, National Security, and law enforcement agencies to address the issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cManagement has the support of the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the GES Council, to sanction any official of the Service\u2014teaching or non-teaching\u2014found to have been involved in aiding or abetting cheating in the examination,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
