The Ambassador-designate to Hungary, His Excellency Dr. Kwame Ampofo, has paid courtesy calls on traditional authorities in his home constituency of South Dayi in the Volta Region to formally announce his diplomatic appointment and seek their blessings.<\/p>\n

Accompanied by the South Dayi NDC Chairman, Prince Alex Adoboe, the District Chief Executive, Courage Kwame Kokroko, family members, and well-wishers, Dr. Ampofo visited the paramountcies of Peki, Kpali, Zendo, and Tongor.<\/p>\n

At each stop, he was warmly received by chiefs and queen mothers, who offered prayers, guidance, and words of encouragement for his new role on the international stage.<\/p>\n

At the Peki Traditional Area, Paramount Chief Deig\u00e3 Kwadzo Dei XII commended the government for entrusting such a responsibility to a son of South Dayi. He urged Dr. Ampofo to serve with dignity and integrity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud of your appointment, but remember, do not disgrace this land or betray the trust placed in you,\u201d the Chief advised. \u201cCarry our name with honor, and let your success bring glory to South Dayi.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Kpali, Paramount Chief Torgbeg\u00e3 Atikpladza Agbi Yao prayed for divine guidance and charged him to lead with selflessness and a deep sense of responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cUplift the image of this land and carry out your duties as if each day were your last,\u201d he counseled.<\/p>\n

The Tongor and Zendo traditional authorities also welcomed their former legislator warmly, offering encouragement and reaffirming their support.<\/p>\n

Visibly moved by the show of solidarity, Dr. Ampofo expressed gratitude for the blessings and pledged to uphold the values of integrity and service.<\/p>\n

\u201cI carry with me the hopes of South Dayi and of Ghana,\u201d he said. \u201cI will work to strengthen relations between Ghana and Hungary while seeking opportunities that can bring development back home. My commitment is to be a worthy representative of my people.\u201d<\/p>\n

A seasoned politician and energy expert, Dr. Ampofo brings a wealth of experience to his new diplomatic role. He previously served as Member of Parliament for South Dayi during the 3rd and 4th Parliaments of the Fourth Republic, where he was known for championing rural electrification and grassroots development.<\/p>\n

Professionally, he has held high-profile positions, including Chief Executive of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Board Chairman of the Ghana Energy Commission, contributing significantly to energy policy formulation.<\/p>\n

With a background in engineering and renewable energy, Dr. Ampofo\u2019s expertise spans sustainable development, infrastructure planning, and international relations. His posting to Hungary is seen as a continuation of his dedicated public service, now focused on strengthening Ghana\u2019s global image and deepening diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
