The MultiChoice Group has disputed claims by Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, that it had agreed to reduce subscription prices in Ghana, insisting no such agreement has been reached.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Friday, September 5, hours after the Minister held a press conference to update the public on the ongoing subscription fees debate, the group stated that they are still engaging with the Minister in a bid to find an amicable solution that is beneficial for all parties.<\/p>\n

MultiChoice Group further said that while it will fully participate in the newly established stakeholder committee, no agreement has been reached on lowering DStv prices in Ghana.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will fully participate in the established Working Committee. However, we wish to clarify that MultiChoice Group has not agreed to a price reduction,\u201d part of the statement read.<\/p>\n

Briefing the press earlier Friday, the Communications Minister told journalists that MultiChoice had signalled its readiness to comply with pricing concerns through a consultative process, similar to what was adopted in negotiations with mobile network operators.<\/p>\n
