Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says he is delighted to hand Derrick Kohn his maiden invitation to the national team ahead of Ghana\u2019s World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old is currently with the team in N\u2019Djamena and could make his debut against Chad in Thursday\u2019s fixture.<\/p>\n

Addo believes the call-up is a chance for the left-back to prove himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy for him that he made it into the squad and to make it step by step,\u201d he said in an interview with Ghana FA media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he had a good season last year. And yeah, he has to keep it up. There\u2019s concurrence on each position. And yeah, let\u2019s see what will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, had backed Derrick to end the country\u2019s \u201cleft-back problems\u201d.<\/p>\n

Kohn featured prominently on loan at Werder Bremen last season, making 27 appearances and scoring twice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
