Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has challenged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to \u201cbe bold\u201d and attach a name to its unsigned statement regarding the slashing of the Black Stars\u2019 budget.<\/p>\n

The Member of Parliament, who has faced scrutiny for not disclosing budgets for Ghana\u2019s international assignments since President John Mahama publicly directed him to do so in February, earlier insisted he was \u201cnot hiding it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adams explained that his administration had reviewed the estimates submitted and cut down certain items, settling on $1.3m instead of the proposed $2m.<\/p>\n

In reaction, the GFA noted it had \u201ctaken careful note of statements made at the press briefing\u201d and promised to \u201cin due course, provide clarifications to the issues raised.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe GFA\u2019s statement has no name attached. Who wrote it? Is the person afraid to put his name there? Be bold. Who is communications department?\u201d he quizzed in an interview with Sporty FM.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe speak to documents. Are the GFA saying they did not present estimates and that government did not slash their budget? If they respond, we\u2019ll also respond approximately,\u201d he added: <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Black Stars have travelled to N\u2019Djamena for their September 4 clash with Chad at the Stade Olympique Mar\u00e9chal Idriss D\u00e9by Itno, before returning to host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.<\/p>\n

Otto Addo\u2019s men, four-time World Cup participants, currently sit top of Group I with 15 points, three ahead of Comoros, who face Mali on Match Day 7. <\/p>\n

The team is scheduled to hold its final training session on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
