A fire that broke out at a residential property in Community 1, Akosombo in the Eastern Region, on Saturday, August 23 led to the complete destruction of a living room and partial damage to other parts of the house, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed.<\/p>\n

According to a Facebook post shared by GNFS, the Akosombo Fire Station received a distress call at 1:10pm on 24 August 2025, reporting a blaze at a three-bedroom home. <\/p>\n

Firefighters, led by ADOII Dormah, arrived on the scene just ten minutes later to find flames raging through the living room and kitchen areas.<\/p>\n

Crews battled the fire for nearly 90 minutes, bringing it under control by 2:00pm and fully extinguishing it by 2:47pm. However, at approximately 3:45pm, the fire reignited in the roof space, prompting a swift return by the fire crew.<\/p>\n

The team, the GNFS says quickly extinguished the remnants of the blaze and remained on site, monitoring the property until 4:12pm to ensure no further flare-ups occurred.<\/p>\n

The incident resulted in the complete destruction of the hall, while the kitchen and other sections of the house sustained partial damage. <\/p>\n
