(REGSEC) has outlined fresh measures to address the violent clashes in Gbenyiri, a farming community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District, which have left at least ten people dead and twelve others injured.<\/p>\n<p>The conflict, believed to stem from a protracted land dispute, has persisted despite the deployment of police and military personnel to the area. <\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, August 24, five men were confirmed dead, with six others seriously injured in an exchange of gunfire.<\/p>\n<p>Following a crunch meeting on Monday, REGSEC directed the District Security Council (DISEC) to immediately dispatch relief items to displaced residents sheltering at the local police station. <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Read also: Savannah NADMO appeals for calm as Gbenyiri clashes claim 10 lives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Ghana Red Cross has also been tasked with providing tents to house affected families.<\/p>\n<p>In a bid to restore calm, REGSEC further resolved to hold a joint mediation meeting in Damongo on Tuesday with the two rival factions and all stakeholder groups within the district.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Savannah Regional NADMO Director, Mahama Zakaria, urged the feuding parties to give peace a chance, warning that the clashes were straining resources already earmarked for disaster preparedness ahead of the Bagre Dam spillage.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say security
