The Ghana Police Service has dismissed media reports suggesting that one of its officers involved in an infraction during the Ablekuma North by-election is facing dismissal.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Friday, August 22, and signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, the Service stressed that no such decision has been made.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, internal disciplinary procedures within the Ghana Police Service are conducted as a quasi-judicial process, and as such, outcomes cannot be predetermined.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Service rules make provision for multiple sanctions or penalties in the event of misconduct involving an officer, and a decision as to what sanction should apply, if any, is made on a case-by-case basis and dependent on the disciplinary trial,\u201d the statement clarified.<\/p>\n

The Police further assured the public that due process will be followed in addressing the matter to ensure justice, law, and order are upheld.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
