The campaign team of former Assin Central MP and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong, says it is not perturbed by a new survey by Global Info Analytics which places former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the lead ahead of the party\u2019s upcoming internal contest.<\/p>\n

Speaking on JoyNews\u2019 The Pulse<\/em> <\/strong>on Friday, Mr Agyapong\u2019s spokesperson, Kwasi Kwarteng, said the survey results would not provoke antagonism from their camp. Instead, he described the poll as an opportunity for reflection and improvement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is research work, and the findings put out by Mr Danquah (Global Info Analytics) is an opportunity and feedback just to improve the work that we are doing, we don\u2019t want to be antagonistic,\u201d he said on the show.<\/p>\n

He added that he is not satisfied with the time frame the survey was conducted. \u201cIf you look at the findings that are put out there, this work was done within the space of eight days, where people will even have concerns about the narrow time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us in team Ken, we will take it as a very good feedback, it is an invitation for us to improve on the things that we are doing,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n

According to the survey, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as the clear front-runner in the race to lead the opposition NPP into the 2028 general elections, according to the new poll released on August 21, 2025.<\/p>\n

The survey shows Dr Bawumia commanding 52% support among NPP delegates ahead of the party\u2019s presidential primary in January 2026, giving him a decisive edge over his rivals.<\/p>\n

His closest challenger, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, trails far behind with 17%. Other aspirants fared poorly, with Dr Bryan Acheampong polling 3%, former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum 1%, and former General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong, Boakye Agyarko, and Addai Nimo each recording less than 1%.<\/p>\n
