Senior Presidential Aide and Advisor to former President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has delivered a deeply emotional tribute to the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah.<\/p>\n

Dr Boamah perished alongside seven others in the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6.<\/p>\n

In a moving eulogy titled \u201cAn Ode to My Brother, Confidante and Manager Extraordinaire\u201d, Mrs. Mogtari described Dr. Boamah as \u201cfaithful, loyal, vibrant, humble and bold,\u201d adding that his untimely death has left an irreplaceable void.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hours between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. will never be the same again for me personally\u2026 your presence is painfully missed,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Mogtari recalled their 25-year friendship, which began through a political introduction and evolved into a deep bond of trust, partnership, and shared activism.<\/p>\n

She spoke of their countless travels, private jokes, and strategic work together \u2014 from political campaigns to family decisions. \u201cYou were my coach, advisor and constant guide\u2026 the only truly unapologetically consistent politician,\u201d she noted, crediting Dr. Boamah for playing a pivotal role in securing the NDC\u2019s historic victories in 2020 and 2024.<\/p>\n

She described him as a man who \u201cstood firm even when many would falter\u201d and whose \u201cunrelenting sacrifices\u201d were instrumental to President Mahama\u2019s political successes.<\/p>\n

The tribute was also deeply personal, filled with vivid anecdotes of moments they shared \u2014 from Dr. Boamah\u2019s insistence on buying her hotel rooms \u201cjust so I could use the bathroom\u201d to his playful banter over meals and his trademark antibacterial handkerchiefs.<\/p>\n

She remembered how he offered counsel on legal matters, political strategy, and even parenting decisions.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur children were in school together for years\u2026 you planned to take two weeks off to accompany Ekua to college,\u201d she recalled, lamenting that those plans will now never come to pass.<\/p>\n

In reflecting on their political journey, Mrs. Mogtari recounted their strategic meetings in London, their shared mantra of \u201cOrganise, don\u2019t agonise,\u201d and his unwavering belief in methodical preparation for political comebacks.<\/p>\n

She said Dr. Boamah had an \u201cunalloyed love, work ethic, loyalty, courage and pride\u201d that inspired all who worked with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou silenced and confounded your fiercest critics in ways words cannot express,\u201d she wrote, insisting that no tribute could truly capture his legacy.<\/p>\n

Concluding her eulogy, Mrs. Mogtari painted a picture of enduring grief, describing the silence in their once-lively chat box since his passing and her longing for his daily responses.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is 3 a.m., the chat box is silent; no one has commented since your untimely departure,\u201d she lamented.<\/p>\n

Ending with heartfelt poetry, she bid him farewell: \u201cRest now, dear friend, your journey\u2019s done\u2026 I\u2019ll cherish every moment we shared \u2014 a precious find. Farewell my dear friend, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah! You will be missed!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
