Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has responded to speculations circulating that he disparaged Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Asake in his most recent hip-hop song, \u201cBrag.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with VoxAfrica, the head of Sarkcess Music explained his goals, saying that his songs weren\u2019t meant to look down on these musicians.<\/p>\n

In his song, \u201cBrag,\u201d Sarkodie asserted that he had already earned his own reputation in the rap world and was on top his game before Wizkid and Davido rose to fame.<\/p>\n

He proceeded to claim that he\u2019s on par with Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole not any other African artiste.<\/p>\n

However, in his interview with VoxAfrica, the rapper said his lyrics were just a story telling and references of how far he has been in the industry.<\/p>\n

He said he would never \u201cjab\u201d these artistes because they are not rappers. According to Sarkodie, although the speculations are not true, he likes the trend and energy because it is \u201cgreat PR\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand what is going on but I just love it. It is great PR, you cannot even pay for this. I am just talking to rappers about how long I have been there. It is just references of how long I have been there, it\u2019s not throwing jabs at anybody.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are amazing and incredible artistes\u2026to be very honest, I wouldn\u2019t like to even clear this because I like the energy that is going on, it\u2019s not true but I\u2019m loving it,\u201d Sarkodie said.<\/p>\n

Sarkodie admitted that the song had created a buzz and that the natural publicity had been helpful. He was optimistic about the project\u2019s overall reception, which is scheduled for release on May 24, 2024, all around the world.<\/p>\n

He said not even a planned PR strategy would not achieve the results that has been seen after the release of the song \u2013 which is a part of his project.<\/p>\n
