A solemn burial ceremony was held on Sunday, August 10, for the two Muslim victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.<\/p>\n

The former Minister for Environment Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala, and former Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed,\u00a0died en route to the launch of the Responsible Co-operative Mining and Skills Development Programme (COMSDEP) in Obuasi to address illegal mining.<\/p>\n

The burial, which took place at the Forecourt of the State House, brought together a host of high-profile dignitaries, including President John Mahama, the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the National Chief Imam.<\/p>\n

Muslim \u2018Jannaza\u2019 prayers were also held for the two departed Muslims. Their remains were then transferred to the Military Cemetery in Accra, where their final burial rites took place. <\/p>\n

While the two Muslim victims are being buried today, a larger inter-denominational state funeral for all eight victims is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Black Star Square.<\/p>\n
