Election Watch Ghana has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and seven others in a military helicopter crash on Wednesday, describing his passing as \u201can unfilled void in our nation\u2019s democratic landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a condolence statement on Friday, the group praised Dr. Omane Boamah\u2019s \u201cinvaluable contributions to Ghana\u2019s democratic journey,\u201d noting his dedication, leadership, and commitment to national progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an organization committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and fairness in electoral processes, we at Election Watch Ghana are particularly saddened by his passing,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

The group urged Ghanaians to take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the legacy the late minister leaves behind.<\/p>\n

The statement prayed for strength and guidance for the bereaved families, adding that Dr. Omane Boamah\u2019s life and work should continue to inspire efforts toward building a better Ghana.<\/p>\n

Eight people, including Dr. Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and three Ghana Armed Forces personnel, died when a military helicopter crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on August 6, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
