August 8, as Sam Nartey George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, broke down in uncontrollable tears during a wreath-laying ceremony held in honour of the five government officials and three crew members who perished in Wednesday\u2019s tragic military helicopter crash.<\/p>\n<p>The Member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram constituency was seen weeping openly as he stood before the memorial.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/sotnews.agency\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/WhatsApp-Video-2025-08-08-at-13.35.40_f3424873.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n<p>Sam George, who was known to share a close bond with the late Defence Minister, Dr Omane Boamah, appeared visibly shaken as he approached the flower-draped display.<\/p>\n<p>The wreath-laying ceremony drew senior government officials, state ministers, public institutions, military officers, and mourners from across the country.<\/p>\n<p>It is part of the activities lined up for the three-day national mourning declared by President Mahama.
