The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ablekuma South Constituency has inaugurated its Women\u2019s Working Committee in a bid to enhance female participation in political decision-making processes and secure victory in the upcoming 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n

The event was held under the theme, \u201cMobilising Ablekuma South Women for Victory 2024\u201d and was chaired by Madam Sophia Karen Ackuaku, the Member of Parliament for Obom Domeabra Constituency, who emphasised the importance of empowering women within the party.<\/p>\n

She congratulated the committee members and reminded them of the huge task ahead. She assured them that they would be given the needed support to emerge victorious.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Sylvia Naa Abia Addy-Cato, the Constituency Women Organiser, speaking at the event, reiterated that the next NDC government has an inspiring vision: to empower women entrepreneurs and create millionaires through the establishment of a Women Development Bank.<\/p>\n

The bank, she explained, will be a game-changer, providing vital support to small-scale businesswomen, from street vendors to small business owners, by granting them access to much-needed capital to grow their enterprises.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Addy- Cato further stated plans for the modernization of markets across the country under the next NDC administration.<\/p>\n

She specifically highlighted the \u201cTuesday market\u201d in the constituency, drawing parallels to the vibrancy and appeal of renowned markets like Kejetia or the attractive Kotokoraba.<\/p>\n

The Women\u2019s Organiser underscored the significance of the committee\u2019s role in amplifying women\u2019s voices and addressing their concerns within the political landscape.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur aim with this committee is to ensure that women\u2019s perspectives are fully integrated into the party\u2019s policies and programmes,\u201d said Mrs. Addy- Cato. \u201cWe believe that by creating a platform for women to engage actively in decision-making processes, we can contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable society.\u201d<\/p>\n

Acknowledging the pivotal role of women in driving socio-economic development, Mrs. Addy- Cato reiterated the NDC\u2019s commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women at all levels of governance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe inauguration of the Women\u2019s Working Committee underscores our party\u2019s unwavering dedication to gender equity and inclusivity,\u201d she remarked. \u201cWe are confident that through collective action and collaboration, we can advance the NDC\u2019s agenda for progress and prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Executives present included the Member of Parliament, Dr. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, National Deputy General Secretary, Gbande Foyo Mustapha, Ephraim Nii Tan Sackey, Greater Deputy Women Organiser, and Mrs. Jessica Patience Braimah, among others<\/p>\n
