Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, has been tipped to be the running mate to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for this year\u2019s general elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Political observer and Analyst Kojo Danso says his analysis of the NPP situation currently shows that Bryan Acheampong is best placed to be the running mate.<\/p>\n

He explained that the \u2018tag of war\u2019 between Energy Minister Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh and Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum over the running mate slot is causing problems for the NPP in the Ashanti Region, their stronghold.<\/p>\n

In order to douse the tension in the NPP in the Region, he said, Bryan Acheampong who is lawmaker for Abetifi in the Eastern Region is expected to be selected as the running mate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is an acrimony between Napo and Adutwum supporters in the Ashanti Region therefore the party is looking for a neutral person to compliment the ticket,\u201d Danso said in a telephone conversation with 3news.com.<\/p>\n

Besides this, he said, \u201cDr Bawumia needs a youthful person with charisma, credibility, and trust and resourceful to partner with, these attributes are visibly seen in Bryan Acheampong, he is also one that the NDC fears because of his operational strategies as a top-notch security person.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of the Majority MPs support him, they like him because he supported most of them during their primaries. It looks as if all the kingmakers in the party are behind him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbove all, he can also trace his roots to the Ashanti Region, specifically Offinso Kayera. That was why recently the youth of Offinso Kayera called on him to serve \u2018home\u2019 as their chief following the death of Karikari Wiafi-Ababio.\u201d<\/p>\n

Profile of Bryan Acheampong<\/p>\n

Bryan Acheampong is the Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency. He is the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs; Member of the Defence and Interior Committee; Member of the Appointments Committee, and Member of the Selection Committee.<\/p>\n

He is the immediate past Minister of State at the Ministry of Interior and the former Minister of State at the Ministry of National Security.<\/p>\n

He is a retired soldier of the US Air Force with training in Anti- Terrorism, Force Protection, Laws of Armed Conflict, Conventional Defence Training, Weapons, Small Arms, and Fuels.<\/p>\n

His experience spans Security, Intelligence, Politics, and Business Leadership.<\/p>\n

Bryan is a serial entrepreneur having founded many successful businesses in Technology, Real Estate, Hospitality, and Media.<\/p>\n

He has a Bachelors degree, three Masters degrees and is a PhD candidate. Bryan holds a
\nBachelors degree in Business Management from Johnson and Wales University, USA, a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Johnson and Wales University- USA, a Master of Professional<\/p>\n

Studies (MPS) in Applied Intelligence from Georgetown University- USA, and a Master of Arts (MA) in Security and Intelligence from the University of Leicester-UK. Bryan is a Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems at the University of Ghana Business School, whose research examines mutual understanding in technology projects. He holds a certificate in Building, Leading, and Sustaining the Innovative Organization from the Massachusetts Institute of<\/p>\n

Technology; Effective Leadership in Management and Administration from the University of Ghana Business School, and Public Relations, Advertising, and Marketing from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. Bryan has 14 publications and Articles to his credit.<\/p>\n

His foundation, The Bryan Acheampong Foundation is constantly embarking on Poverty Reduction, Health, Education, and Agriculture programs.<\/p>\n
