Ndugna Nayiri Naa Bohugu Abdulai Sheriga, the Overlord of Mamprugu, has assured the Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, of the community\u2019s full support in the forthcoming general elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nayiri also expressed strong belief in the ability of Dr. Bawumia to turn Ghana\u2019s fortunes around as president.<\/p>\n

The Nayiri, who doubles as the President of the North East Regional House of Chiefs, made the remarks when Dr. Bawumia called on the Chiefs as part of his regional campaign tour in Nalerigu.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply persuaded that you have it in you to carry out the task ahead\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can rise to the challenge and uphold the good name of Ghana and make her greater and stronger,\u201d Nayiri stressed in a speech read on his behalf at a meeting with Dr. Bawumia.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the Mamprugu Overlord praised Dr. Bawumia for his significant role as Vice President and his contributions to both the community\u2019s development and the nation. He assured Dr. Bawumia of the people\u2019s support in his bid for the presidency.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we prepare for election this year, the least we can do for you, as the son of the soil is to honour you with the opportunity to serve at the highest echelon of state power\u2026We shall not turn our back on you, especially having demonstrated competence, loyalty, resilience and more importantly regard to the institution of Chieftaincy.\u201d<\/p>\n

House-to-house campaign<\/strong><\/h6>\n

The flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Bawumia, has intensified his community engagements with a house-to-house campaign during his tour of the North East region.<\/p>\n

As part of his regional engagements in northern Ghana, Dr. Bawumia connects with various stakeholders. This includes meetings with the Regional House of Chiefs, discussions with clergy, Imams, and Zongo Chiefs, and engaging with the youth.<\/p>\n

He also interacts with individuals in person at their houses while visiting the markets and shops to engage residents.<\/p>\n
