Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bj\u00f6rkegren has said that the team were more deserving of a slot in the final of the 2024 Women\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations 2024, despite their semi-final loss to Morocco.<\/p>\n

Ghana exited the tournament at the semi-final stage after 4-2 loss to Morocco on penalty shootouts on Tuesday night in Rabat.<\/p>\n

The Queens took the lead through Stella Nyamekye\u2019s opportunistic strike midway through the first half.<\/p>\n

However, Morocco fought back and restored parity after Sakina Ouazraoui profited from some questionable defending in the second half.<\/p>\n

Looking back on the performance, Bj\u00f6rkegren said \u201cI am so proud of the girls. I think we were the better team today and I think we deserved the win.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see it in the expected goals. We had 2.21 against a team that had less than 1 expected goals.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is normally a win but we were unlucky today. I could not be more proud of the girls today, and how hard they worked here\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

Ghana will now fight for third place honors against South Africa on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Black Queens are guaranteed a minimum of $300,000 despite not making the final. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
