{"id":68898,"date":"2025-07-04T01:37:26","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T01:37:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sotnews.agency\/?p=68898"},"modified":"2025-07-04T01:37:26","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T01:37:26","slug":"2-arrested-for-murder-of-lebanese-national-in-east-legon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sotnews.agency\/?p=68898","title":{"rendered":"2 arrested for murder of Lebanese national in East Legon"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='booster-block booster-read-block'>\n                <div class=\"twp-read-time\">\n                \t<i class=\"booster-icon twp-clock\"><\/i> <span>Read Time:<\/span>1 Minute, 10 Second                <\/div>\n\n            <\/div><div>\n<p>The Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 58-year-old Lebanese national, Omar Mikati, at his residence in East Legon in Accra, on Friday, June 20, this year.<\/p>\n<p>According to a police statement on Thursday, July 3, Mr. Mikati was found lying in a pool of blood in his home. <\/p>\n<p>It stated that a team from the Police Headquarters\u2019 Crime Scene Management Unit (CSMU) was quickly dispatched to gather forensic evidence.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FGhPoliceService%2Fposts%2F1163524652472053&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"793\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects made away with the victim\u2019s Samsung mobile phone, but left behind other items, including two iPhones and a GCB ATM card bearing the name Paul Twumasi Ankrah.<\/p>\n<p>This clue led police to arrest Paul Twumasi Ankrah at Samsam Medie. During interrogation, he named his accomplice as Asiedu Henning, also known as Nana Kofi Anum.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added that on July 2, the police arrested Mr Henning in an intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Kutunse.<\/p>\n<p>He later led investigators to a location where a knife believed to have been used in the crime had been discarded. <\/p>\n<p>The weapon has been retrieved and is currently undergoing forensic analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Both suspects were arraigned before the Adabraka District Court 1 and have been remanded into police custody. <\/p>\n<p>They are expected to reappear in court on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The police say investigations are ongoing to ensure justice is served.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n        <div class=\"booster-block
