Actress Gloria Sarfo has disclosed how some movie producers sideline her because of her role in local series, \u2018Efiewura\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gloria explained that at a point in her career, she was perceived as unable to express herself in English Language due to her active role in the local series, \u2018Efiewura.\u2019<\/p>\n

She said this perception affected her chances to be starred in some movies and be used as headline actress in promos despite being the lead actress in the movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore I used to get worried, I use to talk a lot. Before I had a tag about the Efiewura I was doing so people I thought I couldn\u2019t even express myself in the English Language so everything was about I am a local actress because of Efiewura.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone actually told me that because of my active role in Efiewura, I may not be able to feature as a wealthy man\u2019s daughter in any glamour movie,\u201d she said on The Ladies Circle on TV3, May 4.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to her, contrary to the perception, it was her vibrancy in speaking the Twi language in movies which earned her the\u00a0Best Supporting Actress award at the\u00a0Africa Magic Viewers\u2019 Choice Awards\u00a0(AMVCA) in March 2020.<\/p>\n\n

She expressed gratitude to Film maker Shirley Frimpong Manso for believing in her and featuring her in Perfect Picture despite her role in \u2018Efiewura\u2019.<\/p>\n

Although Gloria believes it is not a bad thing to be tagged with a consistent role one plays in a movie, she does not find the negativity that comes with it amusing.<\/p>\n
