Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ink Boy is demanding payment of royalties from rapper Sarkodie for being featured on the song, \u2018One million cedis\u2019 on Sarkodie\u2019s \u2018Jamz\u2019 album.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sarkodie released the song \u2018One Million Cedis\u2019 in November 2022 which featured the Nigerian singer.<\/p>\n

In a series of post on X, Ink Boy claimed that it\u2019s been a year after the song was released and he\u2019s yet to receive royalties from Sarkodie.<\/p>\n

He alleged that after reaching out to the rapper\u2019s management severally for his royalties, he has not received any payment yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI made this song and gave it the title one million cedi and all I get now is hate from Sarkodie fans cos I\u2019m not allowed to call him out? As a bigger person is one year not enough time to do what is right? I won\u2019t let this slide give me my royalties,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhich management? How many times? They all know what they are doing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Sarkodie in an interview last year acknowledged Ink Boy\u2019s contribution to the song, stressing that the songwriter birthed the song title.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a young kid in the studio session when I was recording, I didn\u2019t know he was an artiste because he came with a big artiste and he was making melodies to the beat and I said I wanted to hear it and when he came close I was like that\u2019s the hook.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said the first one was the shoddy said she wants one million cedis so then that became the title, so big shout outs to Ink Boy for coming up with this one,\u201d Sarkodie said.<\/p>\n

Sarkodie\u2019s team is yet to comment on the allegation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ink Boy in an interview with 3Music TV last year disclosed that there was no formal agreement reached regarding his contribution to the track.<\/p>\n

He revealed that while there is no written agreement, discussions are ongoing with Sarkodie\u2019s team to sort out the paperwork and hopefully receive what is due him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no paper agreement or whatsoever but it\u2019s in the works because I reached out to his team then so we\u2019ve been talking about that so hopefully I get the split sheet soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
