Greater Accra Hockey Association Vice Chairman, Derrick Tamakloe, is adamant that recent \u201clandmark achievements\u201d in hockey is as a result of the Greater Accra Hockey League\u2019s partnership with Sapholda Ventures Limited.<\/p>\n

He said this during the organizations\u2019 latest dealings that had Sapholda improve its financial commitment to the league from 50,000 Ghana Cedis to 100,000 Ghana Cedis.<\/p>\n

This sponsorship renewal comes ahead of the start of the 2024 League that commences on Saturday, April 27 at the Theodosia Okoh Stadium.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Derrick Tamakloe said Sapholda\u2019s commitment has aided Ghana Revenue Authority win the African Championship in the Women\u2019s Division and first place in the 2023 Africa Games. Ghana finished second in the Men\u2019s Division at the African Games.<\/p>\n

\u201cYear on year basis, they\u2019ve been improving and last year, they specifically directed us to focus the money on player development and we saw a good landmark achievement by seeing that for three years, Royal Ladies from GRA, conquered Africa and won gold in Africa for three consecutive times and it reflected in the national team.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first round of the 2024 season runs from April 27 to June 8.<\/p>\n
