Ghanaian singer, Derrick Osei Kuffour Prempeh also known as Kofi Jamar, has expressed concerns about how\u00a0he has\u00a0been treated\u00a0by the media\u00a0in Ghana.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to him, he is currently facing difficulty\u00a0in\u00a0securing interviews with the media, although they were once aggressively chasing him when he was at the peak of his success.<\/p>\n

During an interview on Cape Coast-based Property FM, Kofi Jamar said he had previously made time for various media houses and respected their personalities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He also hoped to establish a long-term relationship with them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, he is currently having\u00a0a hard time\u00a0getting interviews with the\u00a0same\u00a0media houses and radio stations, as he does not have a hit song like his previous song,\u00a0\u201cEkorso\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me emphasize\u00a0this,\u00a0when Ekorso went\u00a0viral\u00a0the song was everywhere\u00a0and\u00a0I remember when\u00a0a lot of\u00a0radio and TV stations were chasing me for interviews. Every media house from left and right\u00a0like\u00a0we had to make time for all of them because\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0media houses and personalities we\u00a0respect\u00a0a lot. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd we wanted to establish a long-term relationship with them\u00a0but\u00a0here is the case where I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0have a hit song like Ekorso\u00a0at the moment.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0trying to go to those same radio stations and media houses for an interview now\u00a0and\u00a0it becomes hard for me, I\u00a0think\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0where the problem comes from,\u201d\u00a0he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kofi Jamar bemoaned how gatekeepers in the industry use new artistes and discard them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis industry is known for the fact that when\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0coming as a new\u00a0artiste\u00a0we have experienced gatekeepers who warn you to be careful of the industry cos if you\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0take care\u00a0they\u2019ll\u00a0use you and dump you,\u201d\u00a0he added.<\/p>\n
