Canadian pop megastar Celine Dion, who is currently battling a rare neurological disorder has spoken about her health issue for the first time after she was diagnosed with the condition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The multiple-award winning singer told Vogue France in her first interview that she is well, but taking life \u201cone day at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In December 2022, Dion, 56, first disclosed about her condition, Stiff Person Syndrome, which causes stiff muscles in the torso, arms and legs, with noise or emotional distress known to trigger spasms.<\/p>\n

The shocking news led the singer to cancel all her shows scheduled for 2023 and 2024 saying she was not strong enough to tour after she had announced her health condition.<\/p>\n

As the cover star of Vogue France\u2019s May edition, she told the magazine she was \u201cwell\u201d but that her condition requires \u201ca lot of work.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFive days a week I undergo athletic, physical and vocal therapy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t beat the disease, as it\u2019s still within me and always will be. I hope that we\u2019ll find a miracle, a way to cure it with scientific research, but for now I have to learn to live with it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

There is no cure for Stiff Person Syndrome, which is progressive, but treatment can help control symptoms. According to the US National Institutes of Health, it affects twice as many women as men.<\/p>\n

Asked about her ability to return to the stage, Dion told Vogue France she \u201ccan\u2019t answer that\u201d right now.<\/p>\n
