The Duchess of Sussex has revealed she suffered a \u201crare and scary\u201d medical condition after giving birth to one of her children.<\/p>\n

In the first episode of her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan said she was diagnosed with post-partum pre-eclampsia following childbirth.<\/p>\n

She described it as a \u201chuge medical scare\u201d, and said she had to manage without the world knowing what she was going through.<\/p>\n

Meghan, who shares two children with the Duke of Sussex, did not reveal whether she faced the medical complication after the birth of Archie, five, or Lilibet, three.<\/p>\n

According to the NHS website<\/a>, pre-eclampsia affects some women during pregnancy or soon after their baby is delivered, with early signs including high blood pressure.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so rare. And it\u2019s so scary,\u201d Meghan said of the condition.<\/p>\n

The first guest on Meghan\u2019s podcast was Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder of dating app Bumble, who also suffered from the condition.<\/p>\n

Herd described it as \u201clife or death, truly\u201d, adding: \u201cIt\u2019s really scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said she would \u201cnever forget\u201d the image of Meghan, after giving birth to Archie, \u201cand the whole world was waiting for his debut\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the podcast, Meghan also talked about her experience of juggling work and childcare, and how Lilibet often joins her during online meetings when she\u2019s working from home.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t leave the house to go to an office, my office is here,\u201d she said. \u201cLili still naps, she gets picked up early and she naps. She only has a half day in preschool.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf she wakes up and she wants to find me, she knows where to find me, even if my door is closed to the office.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019ll be sitting there on my lap during one of these meetings with a grid of all the executives.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Meghan insisted she \u201cwouldn\u2019t have it any other way\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to miss those moments. I don\u2019t want to miss pick-up if I don\u2019t have to. I don\u2019t want to miss drop-off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan\u2019s new podcast, with Lemonada Media, follows an earlier series called Archetypes on Spotify, which faced some tough criticism.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the latest in a flurry of business ventures from the duchess, who has also recently starred in a new Netflix lifestyle series \u2013 titled With Love, Meghan \u2013 and launched a new brand, As Ever.<\/p>\n

She has said the new series will feature \u201ccandid conversations with amazing women\u201d and also include \u201cgirl talk\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the first episode, she added that having young children, while building a business, helped to bring \u201cperspective\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause you\u2019re building something while your child\u2019s going through potty training\u2026 and both are just as important,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn your own world, that\u2019s super high value. And in [Lili\u2019s] world, that\u2019s super high value.\u201d<\/p>\n
