Dani Olmo and Pau Victor are eligible to play for Barcelona for the rest of the season, Spain\u2019s National Sports Council (CSD) has ruled.<\/p>\n

La Liga granted Barcelona temporary licences to register Olmo and Victor last summer, but\u00a0later revoked their registrations<\/a>\u00a0after claiming the club had failed to prove they were complying with the league\u2019s financial rules by the deadline on 31 December.<\/p>\n

The CSD gave Barcelona permission to\u00a0temporarily reinstate the pair<\/a>\u00a0following an appeal in January.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, La Liga said that the club\u00a0do not have the financial capacity to register the forwards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But the CSD annulled the agreement between the Spanish top flight and the country\u2019s football federation (RFEF).<\/p>\n

The CSD said the two players\u2019 registrations remain valid as the RFEF acknowledged that \u201cthere is no federation resolution that agreed to the cancellation of the licences\u201d and that its decision not to grant a licence is \u201cnull and void\u201d.<\/p>\n

La Liga said it will appeal the decision.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Wednesday, La Liga said it had lowered Barcelona\u2019s wage cap after irregularities with their end-of-year accounting for the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n

Barcelona announced a deal on 3 January to sell VIP boxes at the club\u2019s Nou Camp stadium, which is being rebuilt, to raise 100m euros (\u00a383m) in order to meet La Liga\u2019s Financial Fair Play rules and extend the registrations of Olmo and Victor.<\/p>\n

But La Liga said the deal had not been recorded in accounts submitted by Barcelona to the league last week, and that the deal had been approved by a different, unnamed auditor.<\/p>\n

Olmo was part of Barcelona\u2019s academy before leaving to play for Dinamo Zagreb and RB Leipzig.<\/p>\n

Barcelona paid \u00a352m to reunite with the Spain international last summer and he has featured 28 times this season, including 13 since the CSD\u2019s ruling.<\/p>\n

Victor also came through Barcelona\u2019s famed La Masia academy and has played 22 times this term, with five of those appearances coming since the ruling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
