Kanye West has weighed in on the simmering feud between Drake, J Cole and Kendrick Lamar.<\/p>\n

The spat has been escalating since last year, when Cole referred to the trio as \u201cthe big three\u201d, a description that Lamar forcefully rejected.<\/p>\n

West, a long-time adversary of Drake, has now added his two cents, on a remix of Lamar, Future and Metro Boomin\u2019s song Like That.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t even think of a Drake line,\u201d he said, attacking the star\u2019s lyrics.<\/p>\n

West also criticized Drake\u2019s record deal with Universal Music, suggesting he\u2019d sold the rights to his music for \u201clittle bag\u201d (money).<\/p>\n

\u201cLifetime deal? I feel bad for [you],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

West\u2019s remix was premiered on Justin Laboy\u2019s radio show The Download \u2013 and opened with the line \u201cYo Dot, I got you,\u201d a reference to Lamar\u2019s nickname, K-Dot.<\/p>\n

He only played a snippet of the song and, although a fuller version later leaked online, it was unclear whether that was genuine or fan-made.<\/p>\n

West and Drake\u2019s animosity can be traced back to a dispute over a beat in 2018 \u2013 and culminated in an infamous song by Pusha T (and produced by West), where he revealed the existence of Drake\u2019s son Adonis.<\/p>\n

The latest war of words started on last year\u2019s Drake and J Cole collaboration First Person Shooter, where the \u201cbig three\u201d claim originated.<\/p>\n

The seemingly innocuous comment went unremarked for months. Then, in the middle of March, Lamar delivered a fiery verse on Like That, declaring that there was no \u201cbig three \u2013 it\u2019s just big me\u201d.<\/p>\n

He went on to call Drake and Cole\u2019s best verses insubstantial (\u201ca light pack\u201d) and claimed he was the Prince to Drake\u2019s Michael Jackson.<\/p>\n

Two weeks later, J Cole offered his own reply to Kendrick\u2019s verse, in a track called 7 Minute Drill. He called the Pulitzer Prize winner\u2019s last album, Mr Morale and The Big Steppers, \u201ctragic\u201d and said the star had \u201cfallen off\u201d his A-game.<\/p>\n

He later apologised, appearing to back out of the feud, but Drake doubled down, with a song called Push Ups (Drop And Give Me 50).<\/p>\n

Amidst a lot of comments about Lamar\u2019s height, he also suggested the star was a record label puppet who\u2019d been forced to add verses to commercial pop songs by Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n

\u201cPipsqueak, pipe down, you ain\u2019t in no Big Three,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Lamar appears to be uninterested in responding, but Drake seems determined to provoke a response.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Canadian star released a new track called Taylor Made Freestyle \u2013 in which he suggested Lamar was unwilling to engage in the feud because he was in cahoots with Swift, and didn\u2019t want to overshadow (or be overshadowed) by her album release.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you \u2019bout to drop, she gotta approve\/This girl really \u2019bout to make you act like you not in a feud,\u201d he goaded: \u201cYeah, shoutout to Taylor Swift\/Biggest gangster in the music game right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song also appeared to feature AI vocals from Lamar\u2019s rap hero Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. Their verses also tried to prompt a response from the star.<\/p>\n

\u201cKendrick we need ya, the West Coast saviour\/Engraving your name in some hip-hop history,\u201d advised the AI Shakur.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorld is watching this chess game, but are you out of moves?\u201d admonished the AI Snoop Dogg.<\/p>\n

Of course, all of this is good for business. Both Like That and Push Ups are among the Top 40 most-played songs on Spotify.<\/p>\n
