The Shatta Movement Empire has apologized to the members of the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled after Shatta Wale was filmed \u201cmocking\u201d the disability of his colleague, Stonebwoy.<\/p>\n

A letter addressed to the GSPD, signed by Shatta Wale\u2019s manager Samuel Atuobi Baah, said the \u2018Melissa\u2019 hitmaker had no intention of making fun of or belittling persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Sammy Flex, as he is popularly known, noted that his artiste only wanted to show others the need for Stonebwoy to show respect to others and maintain proper conduct.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that the wording of the statement may have been insensitive, and we acknowledge the concerns raised.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was not our intention to cause any harm, and we value and respect the contributions and rights of individuals with disabilities in our society,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Sammy Flex said the Shatta Movement is committed to promoting inclusivity and understanding.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026we will strive to be more mindful of our words and actions in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Shatta Wale at the Fadama Sallah Fest went after Stonebwoy for his absence at the highly anticipated event.<\/p>\n

In his rant on stage, he used some \u2018unprintable\u2019 words against Stonebwoy including making fun of his limp, which many felt were needless even if he had beef with the \u2018Nominate\u2019 hitmaker.<\/p>\n

However, a week later the GSPD condemned Shatta Wale\u2019s actions as irresponsible and potentially harmful to the mental health of the physically disabled community.<\/p>\n

Addressing his statements in a press release, the GSPD indicated that they had \u201cseen a video circulating on social media where Shatta Wale mocks Stonebouy with his disability.<\/p>\n

In the video, Shatta Wale said among other negative statements \u201cYou are a bad person that is why God made you a disabled person, you are a disabled person don\u2019t try and fight an able person\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBy this statement, he is trying to say all persons with disabilities are bad that is why God has made us who we are. This primitive statement should not have come from a high-profile personality like Shatta Wale,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

The group called for Shatta Wale to apologize to the community and take measures to remove the offensive videos from social media platforms.<\/p>\n

Additionally, one musician Bosheba De Shyne expressed his disappointment in Shatta Wale after the comments he made on the Sallahfest stage.<\/p>\n

The musician who has a disability said he did not find it in good taste that an artiste he looks up to had weaponized the disability, using it to insult a colleague.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the GSPD in a new press release has acknowledged the apology from Shatta Wale and his team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe accept the apology and appreciate their commitment to promoting inclusivity, as there is a need for all of us to work together and create a more inclusive environment for all, regardless of disabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would also like to use this opportunity to thank all members of the disability community for their patience and all stakeholders for their support. Let us be mindful of the reality that disability can be anyone\u2019s lot anytime,\u201d they noted.<\/p>\n
