The Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has expressed confidence in the stability of the Ghanaian Cedi, stating that it will perform well despite concerns about potential depreciation. <\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview with Channel One TV on Wednesday, 12 March, Dr Forson reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to maintaining a strong currency through sound economic policies and fiscal discipline.<\/gwmw><\/p>\n

His remarks come in response to recent comments by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama, who warned that the recent decline in Treasury Bill (T-Bill) rates could lead to a depreciation of the Cedi. <\/p>\n

The Governor\u2019s concerns have sparked discussions about the currency\u2019s future performance and the broader implications for the economy.<\/gwmw><\/gwmw><\/p>\n

Dr Forson, however, remained optimistic, insisting that the fundamentals of the economy, coupled with the measures implemented by the government, would sustain the Cedi\u2019s strength. <\/p>\n

\u201cI have faith in the Cedi. I believe that the Cedi will do well based on the fundamentals and the work that we have done so far. I believe that the Cedi will perform well,\u201d he stated.<\/gwmw><\/p>\n

The Minister assured the public that the government continues to monitor economic trends and take proactive steps to stabilise the currency. <\/p>\n

He urged investors and the general public to remain confident in the country\u2019s financial outlook, emphasising that Ghana\u2019s economic policies are designed to promote long-term stability and growth.<\/gwmw><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
