Mr. Kwasi Agyei, is the acting Controller and Accountant General for the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed the Deputy Controller and Accountant General (CAG), Mr. Kwasi Agyei, as the acting Controller and Accountant General for the Controller and Accountant General\u2019s Department (CAGD) following the resignation of Mr. Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Kwasi Agyei assumed office on Monday, April 15, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a brief handing-over ceremony at the Treasury Head Office, the immediate past Controller and Accountant-General, Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem, expressed satisfaction with the appointment of a new acting CAG from within the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He maintained that \u201cthis would serve as a motivation for the staff of the Department, that through hard work, dedication and integrity one can rise to the top.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem added that he was privileged to receive massive support from the staff of the Department, \u201cright from top management to the least person,\u201d urging them to give the same support to the new acting CAG, Mr. Agyei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He thanked President Akuffo-Addo, the Head of Service and Public Service Commission Chairman, and all staff of the Department for their support and the opportunity given to him to serve the nation through the CAGD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new acting CAG, Mr. Kwasi Agyei, on his part, expressed his appreciation to Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem for his \u201cexceptional leadership, from which he has learnt a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also thanked President Nana Akuffo Addo and the Minister for Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam for the opportunity to serve the nation in this capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasised that he is fully aware of the \u201cresponsibilities and challenges that lie ahead\u201d as the new acting CAG and will therefore need the support and dedication of all staff of the Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brief about Mr Kwasi Agyei<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Kwasi Agyei is an experienced Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Kwasi Agyei comes to the office with over 20 years of experience in the public sector. Until he was appointed the new acting CAG, Mr. Kwasi Agyei was the Deputy Controller and Accountant-General in charge of the Treasury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Accounting and Finance, and an International Master of Business Administration (MBA). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Accounting and Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Agyei has served on various boards, including the Ministerial Advisory Board of the Ministry of Finance, the Ghana Road Fund Management Board, and the Railway Development Fund Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has also held several positions in different organisations, including Director of Finance at the Ministry of Energy, Director of Accounts at the Ministry of Petroleum, Head of Finance at the Food and Drugs Authority, and Chief Treasury Officer at the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n
