The Board of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards has announced the nomination of the original version of Amerado\u2019s Kweku Ananse song for the most popular song of the year category.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This follows a review by the board after Amerado and other artistes had petitioned the board concerning some omission and errors related to the nominations for this year\u2019s TGMA.<\/p>\n

Subsequently the TGMA board opened a week window for errors and omissions to deal with the concerns raised by artistes.<\/p>\n

Amerado petitions TGMA Board over omission of Kweku Ananse for Most Popular Song category<\/a><\/p>\n

In a press release on April 15, the board admitted it erred with the nomination of Amerado\u2019s Kweku Ananse and Lonely Road by O\u2019 Kenneth and Xlim Kid.<\/p>\n

The statement noted that instead of the board nominating the original version of Amerado\u2019s song, it rather considered the remix version of \u2018Kweku Ananse\u2019.<\/p>\n

It explained that the omission was the reason Amerado\u2019s song did not earn a spot in the most popular song of the year category.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Board has reviewed this and consequently nominated \u2018Kweku Ananse\u2019 by Amerado to replace the remix version in the Best Highlife Category. The song has also been nominated in the Most Popular Song of the Year Category,\u201d TGMA said.<\/p>\n

For O\u2019 Kenneth\u2019s \u2018Lonely Road\u2019, the board said there was an error with the filing because it was initially filed as a featured work.<\/p>\n

The statement clarified that \u201cthe management of both artists pointed out that \u2018Lonely Road\u2019 was a joint project by O\u2019Kenneth and Xlim Kid and a not a feature. The Board noted this and has thus corrected the nomination to reflect \u2018Lonely Road by O\u2019 Kenneth and Xlim Kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert Klah, on behalf of the 25th TGMA Board, expressed gratitude to the music community for their active participation in the Errors & Omissions window.<\/p>\n

He reiterated the board\u2019s commitment to fairness and transparency in the awards process, acknowledging the stakeholders\u2019 contributions over the past 25 years.<\/p>\n
