Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has stated that he will be surprised if the ordinary Ghanaian votes for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7 general elections.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The former president cited the wanton dissipation of government resources and untold economic hardships brought onto Ghanaians by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government as evident enough for Ghanaians to reject the NPP come December 7.<\/p>\n

Also, Mr. Mahama criticised the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration for making unrealistic promises to Ghanaians, leading to the country\u2019s massive debts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hypocrisy that is annoying is that this is the same government where somebody said that if it was just borrowing and spending, even their child in primary school can be president,\u201d the former president derided the current Vice President, Dr. Bawumia.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery sector is in trouble all the state-owned enterprises that were making profit under the NDC administration, today, all of them making losses. This government has been a disaster,\u201d said Mr. Mahama.<\/p>\n\n

He further described the Akufo-Addo government as \u201cthe biggest political scam in the history of the fourth republic.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Mahama, the NPP government under President Akufo-Addo propagated \u201clies and deceit\u201d to hoodwink Ghanaians into voting them into power.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd after what we have gone through in seven and a half years, it surprises me, anybody who will still go to the ballot box and say he is going to vote for NPP again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He emphasised that except for individuals who may have \u201cmade money under this government, they will go and vote [NPP] again,\u201d but the NDC flagbearer is confident that \u201cthe majority of Ghanaians have seen a reversal in the quality of their lives in these seven and a half years,\u201d and those individuals will reject the NPP.<\/p>\n\n
