Everton midfielder Dele Alli has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the Chelsea penalty incident during their match against Everton.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the match, Chelsea displayed dominance throughout, but the post-penalty confrontation overshadowed the result when Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson were found in an argument over who to take the kick.<\/p>\n

However, Cole Palmer who was already on a hattrick ended up converting it in to complete his haul for Chelsea in a match which ended 6-0.<\/p>\n

Despite being sidelined due to injury since March 2023, Alli offered his insights into the altercation that unfolded after Chelsea were awarded a penalty during the game.<\/p>\n

He expressed disappointment with the incident, questioning why a similar level of intensity wasn\u2019t evident during crucial moments, such as the game against Manchester United.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not there at the training ground everyday, I don\u2019t know who the designated penalty taker is, but as far as I\u2019m aware, in that last big game and the pressure was on, I didn\u2019t see them all fighting to take it [vs Man Utd with the last minute penalty],\u201d he stated on Sky Sports\u2019 Monday Night Football.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s alright when you\u2019re 4-0 up and want to get on the scoresheet, but if you want to get on the scoresheet, don\u2019t just try and do it in an unpressurised situation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cole Palmer after the game clarified that he was the designated penalty taker and had to take it despite his teammates\u2019 eagerness to also score from the spot.<\/p>\n
