In a recent interview on Connect 97.1 FM\u2019s mid-morning show with host Nana Yaw Gyebi, the \u201cAduu sum) akwadu\u201d hit maker adamantly stated that he has no regrets venturing into recording highlife music, adding that he disagree with some Ghanaians that highlife has lost its value.<\/p>\n

\u201cHighlife has not lost its value as far as Ghana music is concerned; highlife can never die, and I don\u2019t regret choosing the highlife genre.\u201d<\/p>\n

With hits like \u201cI miss you\u201d and \u201cOld school\u201d Lucky Mensah\u2019s assertion resonates deeply within Ghana\u2019s music industry, reflecting the sentiment shared by many music enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

However, he acknowledged contemporary challenges facing the genre, particularly regarding alterations in rhythm and a lack of lyrical depth among newer artists.<\/p>\n

Mensah believes addressing these issues is crucial for maintaining highlife\u2019s relevance and longevity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new crop of artists are changing the rythm of highlife and they lack lyrical content which is worrying. If you listen to the likes of Ampadu, Oheneba Kisi, Kofi B and Ofori Amposah etc and compare it to recent highlife you will understand what I\u2019m saying. They have to learn from the veterans,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
