Ghana\u2019s Boxing team have received approval from the Sports of Youth & Ministry and the Ghana Olympic Committee(GOC) to participate in the final Olympic Qualifier in Bangkok, Thailand, scheduled from May 22 to June 2, 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Ornella Sathoud, a middle-weight boxer based in the United States, will join six other male members of the National Boxing Team \u2013 Black Bombers team for the upcoming 2nd World Qualifying Tournament in Bangkok-Thailand.<\/p>\n

Despite participating in two previous qualifiers, Ghana is yet to secure its first boxing slot for the Paris Olympic Games.<\/p>\n

In Senegal last year, twelve boxers including Seth Gyimah from Ghana failed to secure a qualifications slot.<\/p>\n

The Boxing team will be hoping to continue from where they left off in the African Games after clinching a total of 7 medals(4- Gold,1 Silver & 2 Bronze)<\/strong> in the boxing event.<\/p>\n

\nIn the initial Olympic Qualifier of the year held in March, a contingent of seven Ghanaian boxers vied for a total of 49 coveted slots.<\/p>\n

Despite their formidable efforts, the Black Bombers team, comprised of Samuel Takyi (competing in the light welterweight category), Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey (in the flyweight division), Alfred Kotei (in the light-middleweight division), Jonathan Tetteh (competing in the light heavyweight class), and Leicester-born Mark Kojovi Ahondao (representing in the heavyweight category), unfortunately fell short in securing their spots for the upcoming Olympics.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Black Hitters pair, Janet Ackah and Warrant Officer Anatu Mohammed, also faced disappointment as they were unable to clinch qualification.<\/p>
