Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Opoku says it was a hard decision to leave the Porcupine Warriors after his return to the club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Opoku has rejoined the club, having departed in 2021 following an excellent season.<\/p>\n

The former Olympique Khouribga forward was key for Kotoko before joining the Algerian-based outfit USM Alger.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with the club\u2019s media team, Opoku\u00a0recalled the emotional turmoil he experienced on the eve of his departure.<\/p>\n

\u201cLeaving Kotoko was a hard decision for me. The morning before my departure I felt bad about leaving a great club like Kotoko. It wasn\u2019t easy because I had grown attached to the team and the supporters who made me feel at home\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Before the move to Algeria, the 25-year-old striker made a significant impact, scoring nine goals and establishing himself as a vital cog in the team.<\/p>\n

Despite, his exceptional displays, he departed Kotoko without securing any silverware \u2013 a situation he is resolute on rectifying on his return.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to help the team as a whole to achieve its goals to win trophies and compete on the continent. I couldn\u2019t win any trophy in my first stint but I believe this time I have a lot to offer,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Opoku, who was officially unveiled before Kotoko\u2019s victory over Hearts of Oak last Sunday, is expected to forge a potent partnership with in-form striker Albert Amoah in the Porcupine Warriors\u2019 attack.<\/p>\n
