Ademola Lookman was the standout winner at the 2024 CAF Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, as the Atalanta and Nigeria forward was crowned CAF Men\u2019s Player of the Year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lookman\u2019s impressive year saw him follow in the footsteps of compatriot Victor Osimhen, marking the first back-to-back Nigerian winners since Nwankwo Kanu and Victor Ikpeba in the 1990s.<\/p>\n

Zambia\u2019s Barbra Banda clinched CAF Women\u2019s Player of the Year after an incredible season in the U.S. National Women\u2019s Soccer League, where she led Orlando Pride to the league title. Banda also broke records at the Paris Olympics, becoming the only player to score three hat-tricks in the competition\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams was another big winner, claiming two awards: CAF Goalkeeper of the Year and Men\u2019s Interclub Player of the Year. Williams\u2019 heroics helped Mamelodi Sundowns win the South African Premiership, while his penalty saves at AFCON 2023 led South Africa to a bronze medal.<\/p>\n

Nigeria\u2019s Chiamaka Nnadozie retained her title as Women\u2019s Goalkeeper of the Year after excelling with Paris FC, while Morocco\u2019s Sana\u00e2 Mssoudy and Doha El Madani won Women\u2019s Interclub Player and Young Player of the Year, respectively. Senegal\u2019s Lamine Camara secured the Men\u2019s Young Player of the Year award for his standout performances with Monaco and the Senegal national team.<\/p>\n

C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire\u2019s Emerse Fa\u00e9 was named Men\u2019s Coach of the Year after guiding the Elephants to AFCON glory, while Lamia Boumehdi won Women\u2019s Coach of the Year for leading TP Mazembe to the CAF Women\u2019s Champions League title.<\/p>\n

The ceremony also celebrated national teams and clubs, with C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire and Nigeria winning Team of the Year honors. Al Ahly and TP Mazembe were named Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Clubs of the Year.<\/p>\n
