Prof. Joshua Alabi, campaign lead for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections, has explained why the party achieved its highest-ever votes in the Ashanti Region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Prof. Alabi, the NDC\u2019s 33% share of votes in the region could be attributed to their vigilance in preventing electoral rigging, despite low voter turnout.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur focus was on ensuring that only registered voters cast their ballots, reducing the likelihood of multiple voting,\u201d Prof. Alabi said on Hot Issues. \u201cWhile low turnout was a factor, our vigilance also played a role in preventing fraudulent voting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prof. Alabi noted that some senior NDC members believe the party\u2019s previous election results were inaccurate.<\/p>\n

However, he believes the 2024 election results in the Ashanti Region truly reflect the party\u2019s support base, and they will work to improve this in future elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of us have always questioned the authenticity of our votes in the Ashanti Region,\u201d Prof. Alabi added. \u201cBut I believe the 2024 results are a true reflection of our support, and we\u2019ll strive to build on this in 2028.\u201d<\/p>\n
