A car accident has claimed the life of Zambia football legend Rainford Kalaba who was in a critical condition after sustaining major injuries in the crash.<\/p>\n

The crash was reported earlier today with the former TP Mazembe star\u2019s car was found in a poor condition after colliding head on with a heavy truck. Another individual, reportedly his unnamed partner, also passed on<\/p>\n

News of his passing was reported by Zambia Daily Mail; Kalaba was 37 years old and was an accomplished winner in the African club football setting.<\/p>\n

Kalaba won the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Super Cup during his time with DR Congolese side TP Mazembe from 2011 to 2023.<\/p>\n

He played for Zambian clubs Kitwe United and ZESCO United and had loan spells at Portuguese clubs Gil Vicente and Leiria.<\/p>\n

However, he will be best remembered as a member of the famous Zambian football team that beat the odds to win the 2012 AFCON.<\/p>\n
