Former Asante Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe has expressed his belief that it would be premature to dismiss coach Prosper Ogum amidst the team\u2019s current challenges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bekoe emphasized the importance of giving Ogum sufficient time to reverse Kotoko\u2019s fortunes, especially in nurturing young and promising talents within the squad.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Akoma FM, he attributes the club\u2019s current struggles to bad scouting of players.<\/p>\n

He suggested that addressing these underlying issues would be more beneficial in the long run than making hasty decisions regarding the coaching staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey did not have much success with the scouting system at Kotoko, nearly every player, with the exception of Justice Blay, is immature, and they are in the right place at the wrong time. To achieve the desired outcomes, Kotoko needs to go out and acquire more elite players.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amidst the team\u2019s recent poor form, which has seen them secure just one victory in their last eight matches of the second round of the Ghana Premier League, Kotoko has slipped to 10th place on the league table.<\/p>\n

Drawing a parallel with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Eric Bekoe emphasises that Prosper Ogum possesses a similar ability to develop talent. Bekoe underscores the importance of allowing Ogum the necessary time and patience to implement his strategies and nurture the team\u2019s potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cProsper steps in to help those who are there now, as they will need time to grow. Prosper needs time to turn things around because, like Arsene Wenger, he develops players.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, supporters should remain composed and cheer on the team in the hopes that they will be seated more comfortably,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Kotoko\u2019s next three league games will be against Dreams FC, Samartex, and Medeama, making their task even more difficult.<\/p>\n
