Chelsea have completed the signing of goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal for \u00a320.7 million on a seven-year contract.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old Dane joins the Blues after making 37 appearances for Villarreal last season, where he established himself as the club\u2019s first-choice goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis move is a dream come true,\u201d Jorgensen said. \u201cI am very excited to have signed for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I can\u2019t wait to get to know everyone and to start playing with all my new team-mates.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jorgensen is set to compete for the number-one spot with Robert Sanchez, who was Chelsea\u2019s first choice last season until injuries allowed Serbia\u2019s Dorde Petrovi\u0107 to take over. Kepa Arizabalaga remains a Chelsea goalkeeper as well following his loan spell at Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

Born in Sweden but representing Denmark Under-21s, Jorgensen joined Villarreal\u2019s youth system at age 15 and made his senior debut for the B side in October 2020. He made his La Liga debut in January 2023.<\/p>\n

Jorgensen has joined Chelsea\u2019s pre-season tour in the United States and may feature in upcoming matches against Club America, Manchester City, or Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
