Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez has stated he will make a decision regarding his future at the club after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite signing a one-year contract extension in March 2023, which keeps him at City until 2028, speculation about his potential departure persists.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am focused here [at the Olympics] because it is a short tournament,\u201d Alvarez said ahead of Argentina\u2019s match against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Manchester City, I feel very good, I played a lot of minutes. But we will see after the Games. First, if I can, I will take a few days off. Then we will decide.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alvarez was a substitute during City\u2019s FA Cup final loss to Manchester United in May and has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.<\/p>\n

He expressed some frustration at not playing in key matches but remains positive about his season overall.<\/p>\n

City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged Alvarez\u2019s thoughts about his future, emphasizing that many players want to feature in important games.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know he wants to play in important moments, but the other players want that too,\u201d Guardiola said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have 18 or 19 players who want to play in the important games. I read he has to think about it, so OK, think about it and after that he will inform us what he wants to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alvarez, 24, will make his third start for Argentina in the Olympics against Ukraine on Tuesday, with the men\u2019s gold medal match scheduled for August 9.<\/p>\n
