Ghanaian swimmer Harry Stacey says that setting a national record would be an amazing feat as he prepares to get into the pool and compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the Ghana Olympic Committee ahead of his heat in the Men\u2019s 100 Metre Freestyle on Tuesday, July 30 at 9:15 GMT, Stacey talked about how excited he was to compete in Paris and how brilliant the atmosphere is at the Paris La Defense Arena.<\/a> (Click highlighted text to read full story)<\/p>\n

\u201cAnywhere my personal best, getting a national record would be amazing but yeah, I don\u2019t set a time, I just go out there, do my best and see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stacey is the first of eight Ghanaian athletes to compete at the second Paris Games with fellow swimmer Joselle Mensah scheduled to compete in the Women\u2019s 50 Metre Freestyle Heat on August 3.<\/p>\n

Both are bidding to win Ghana\u2019s first medal in swimming in the history of the Olympic Games; Abeiku Jackson represented Ghana at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n
