The economic conditions under the previous Mahama administration were far better than what is being experienced under the Akufo-Addo administration, Broadcast journalist and now a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Shamima Muslim, has said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shamima described Mr Mahama as an honest leader who concedes when there are challenges and moves to tackle those challenges, unlike President Akufo-Addo whom she said blames everything on the outbreak of Covid.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the launch of the NDC campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, she said \u201cHe is a trusted human being and an honest leader who concedes when there are challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not saying conditions were rosy under Mahama but they were better than what we are seeing now,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

For her part, the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, cautioned all agents of the NDC not to accept money that will come their way to stop monitoring the elections to allow for some underhand dealings to take place.<\/p>\n

She said the NDC needs to win the election to protect the democracy of Ghana hence the need to protect the ballot.<\/p>\n

She noted that the Akufo-Addo administration has been a failure and further accused the government of \u2018blatant corruption\u201d<\/p>\n

Corruption has been presided over by this government,\u201d she said during the 2024 campaign launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tamale on Saturday, July 27.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday we promise John Mahama that we will set the bar high with zero tolerance with respect to corruption. The people of Ghana hold NDC to the highest standards<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must hold onto principles that can\u2019t be bought with money, we must make sure none of our agents is be bought,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s protect the ballot boxes., do not allow yourself to be misled by the money people will bring your way,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi for his part, said that the 2024 general election will experience a change of government.<\/p>\n

To him, Ghanaians will vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because of the \u201cincompetent Akufo-Addo government.<\/p>\n

\u201cChange is coming, are you ready for change,\u201d he said during the campaign launch of the NDC in Tamale on Saturday, July 27.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe victory of the NDC is coming again,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

The campaign Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professor Joshua Alabi also expressed optimism that Ghanaians will vote for the NDC in this year\u2019s elections.<\/div>\n

He says that the people are wide awake and will not be decided by the governing NPP.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe people are very awake and they have seen the truth,\u201d he told TV3\u2019s Komla Klutse in Tamale during the NDC\u2019s 2024 campaign launch at the Jubilee Park.<\/div>\n

A member of the manifesto committee of the NDC Elvis Afriyie Ankrah for his part said the idea of the NDC is to win 14 out of the 18 seats in the Northern Region.<\/p>\n

He explained that although the Volta Region is the stronghold of the NDC, it is the northern region that drives the energy of the party.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview with TV3\u2019s Mawuena Egbeta in Tamale on the sidelines of the campaign launch, the former Minister of Youth and Sports said: \u201cThe idea is that we are going to win 14 seats out of the 18 seats in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n

He further criticized the Akufo-Addo for economic mismanagement.<\/p>\n

The mismanagement of the economy, he said, will cause Ghanains to vote for the NDC.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have seen the abysmal performance every single sector of the economy is in a mess so the people have through,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
