Members of Ghana\u2019s contingent at the 2024 Olympic Games will be decked out in traditional African smocks or \u201cBatakari\u201d<\/strong> for the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n

The 2024 Games will take place in France\u2019s capital, Paris, from July 26 to August 11 with the Paralympic Games to be hosted in Paris from August 28 to September 8.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony is scheduled to commence at 18:00 GMT with country representatives set to be presented on boats floating on the Seine River past iconic landmarks including the Grand Palais. This is the Olympics opening ceremony that will take place outside a stadium.<\/p>\n

Unlike previous editions of the Olympics that had Team Ghana dressed in the popular Kente clothing, this year\u2019s edition will have Ghana\u2019s athletes dressed in the equally popular Batakari dress.<\/p>\n

Eight athletes will represent Ghana in the competition with the number down from 14 that represented the nation in Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics.<\/p>\n

Two swimmers, Joselle Mensah and Harry Stacey and high jumper Rose Yeboah, are the Team Ghana members for this year\u2019s Games who aren\u2019t part of the Men\u2019s 4\u00d7100 Relay Team.<\/p>\n
