Ghana super middleweight contender Sena \u201cAfrican Warrior\u201d Agbeko has stated that banning American boxer Ryan Garcia for doping was the right thing to do.<\/p>\n

He said this in an exclusive interview with Channel One Sports<\/strong> in the wake of Garcia\u2019s one year ban by the New York Boxing Commission after he tested positive for using performance enhancing drugs in his bout against Devin Haney.<\/p>\n

Garcia won the much talked about bout via a unanimous decision after dominating the fight but his win has been chalked off since the ruling.<\/p>\n

For Agbeko, who is a huge anti-doping advocate, banning Garcia was the right thing to get boxing on track.<\/p>\n

\u201cI absolutely think they did the right thing, granted that Ryan Garcia was caught. I think that they did the right thing by taking Ryan Garcia\u2019s win and penalizing him. They took away his entire purse which is a million dollars and they banned him for a year so I think they totally did the right thing as in a means of just that, hey this isn\u2019t the right thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Agbeko suffered a second round knockout loss to David Morrell in 2023 in Minnesota; Agbeko has 28 wins and three losses in his professional career.<\/p>
