For the second time in as many months, Italian tennis player, Jasmine Paolini, who is also of Ghanaian and Polish heritage, has lost a grand slam tennis final.<\/p>\n

Weeks after losing to Iga Swiatek in the French Open Final, Paolini lost 2-6, 6-2, 4-6 to Czech player Barbora Krejcikova in this year\u2019s Wimbledon final; Krejcikova becomes the eighth woman in eight years to win the prestigious slam.<\/p>\n

Despite fighting back in typical fashion to win the second set, Paolini couldn\u2019t hold on her momentum to win the crucial third set and win her first grand slam title.<\/p>\n

The 28 year old, who has gained widespread attention because of her extensive family background including having a Ghanaian grandfather<\/a>, expressed how disappointed she was but highlighted how much progress she has made over the past two months. \u201cThe last two months have been crazy for me. Today I am a little bit sad. I try to keep smiling because I have to remember today is still a good day. I made the final of Wimbledon\u201d she said according to the BBC.<\/p>\n

Paolini will compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris which commences later this month.<\/p>\n
