The National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Council (NC) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be holding separate emergency meetings today Thursday, July 4.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The meetings will be held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.<\/p>\n

The two meetings are to consider the selection of a running for the flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.<\/p>\n

Dr Bawumia had presented the name of Energy Minister and Manhyia lawmaker Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his rung mate for the 2024 general elections.<\/p>\n

National Organiser of the NPP Henry Nana Boakye wrote on Facebook on Monday, July 1 that \u201cH.E Bawumia has today, 1st July 2024, formally informed National Officers of the NPP of his nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe meeting which occurred at the NPP\u2019s headquarters in Asylum Down follows an earlier presentation of Dr. Opoku Prempeh\u2019s nomination to the majority caucus of Parliament.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe nomination however, awaits the decision of the National Council which is the final approving organ of the NPP.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
