Malik Pimpong, the son of former Ghana striker Razak Pimpong, is following in his father\u2019s footsteps, earning a spot in Denmark\u2019s U17 team.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 16-year-old has been chosen for the squad as they prepare for the upcoming 2024 Internordic tournament.<\/p>\n

Currently a member of the FC Midtjylland youth team, Malik is touted as one of the most promising players in the Danish youth competitions. His inclusion in the national team for the Internordic tournament marks a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.<\/p>\n

The Internordic tournament is a friendly competition among Nordic nations, including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Malik is poised to capitalize on this opportunity to make a mark on the international stage.<\/p>\n

Denmark will kick off their Internordic campaign against Finland U17 on August 1, followed by a fixture against Norway two days later. The tournament will conclude with Denmark facing Sweden on August 8.<\/p>\n

Razak Pimpong, Malik\u2019s father, had an illustrious career, playing as a striker and attacking midfielder for clubs such as FC Midtjylland, FC Copenhagen, and Viborg FF.<\/p>\n

He was versatile, capable of playing as a right-sided midfielder or winger. Razak also featured for Ghana in the 2006 World Cup, marking Ghana\u2019s debut appearance in the tournament. Despite his versatility, he made only 10 appearances for the national team, scoring one goal.<\/p>\n

With Malik already experiencing international football at a young age, he hopes to surpass his father\u2019s achievements.<\/p>\n

Despite representing Denmark, Malik Pimpong remains eligible to feature for the Black Stars in the future, potentially continuing his father\u2019s legacy on the international stage.<\/p>\n
