Accra, June 23, GNA \u2013 Governance professionals across Ghana are set to gather in Accra for the maiden edition of the Company Secretaries\u2019 Summit and Awards, an event aimed at strengthening governance leadership and enhancing boardroom effectiveness in an evolving corporate environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The summit, scheduled for July 16, 2026, at the\u00a0Labadi\u00a0Beach Hotel, is being\u00a0organised\u00a0by Mindful Governance and is expected to attract about 200 participants, including company secretaries, governance experts, policymakers, and institutional leaders.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A statement issued by Madam Catherine Engmann, the Managing Director of Mindful Governance, described the event as\u00a0a timely\u00a0intervention designed to equip governance professionals with the skills, networks, and insights\u00a0required\u00a0to navigate increasingly complex institutional and corporate landscapes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe governance landscape in Ghana is undergoing significant transformation, placing growing demands on company secretaries to support effective decision-making, strengthen governance culture, and provide strategic leadership within\u00a0organisations,\u201d it added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said the role of the company secretary had never been more critical, and that corporate boards were increasingly demanding agility, foresight, and ethical leadership in response to shifting stakeholder expectations and governance standards.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The statement said the full-day\u00a0programme\u00a0would feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions led by distinguished governance practitioners and industry experts, where discussions would focus on boardroom dynamics, regulatory compliance, digital transformation, and emerging governance trends.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It stressed that it would also feature an awards ceremony to\u00a0honour\u00a0individuals and\u00a0organisations\u00a0that have\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0excellence and innovation in governance practice.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Madam Engmann said the summit would serve as more than just a conference, describing it as a strategic platform for governance professionals committed to\u00a0maintaining\u00a0high standards\u00a0of leadership and boardroom performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe the event will provide\u00a0practising\u00a0company secretaries with a valuable opportunity to benchmark against industry standards, engage with peers, and gain fresh perspectives on contemporary governance challenges,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She reiterated that beyond the formal sessions, the summit was expected to create important networking opportunities that will foster collaboration and strengthen governance practice across Ghana\u2019s corporate and institutional sectors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Managing Director said registration for the summit was currently open, encouraging interested participants to register early through the official event portal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAs governance systems continue to evolve globally, the Company Secretaries\u2019 Summit and Awards is expected to provide a critical forum for reflection, dialogue, and forward-looking leadership within Ghana\u2019s governance space,\u201d she stressed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
